Time to Give Tim Pawlenty a Second Look – Yes, But, However!

By John Romano

(YBH) – I’ve written some highly critical pieces of Mitt Romney as of late, but I want to say that I don’t hate the man, I just think he can’t win on a national level.

After the economy, this is election is all about ObamaCare’s assault on the American way.  Romney’s individual mandate is no different than Obama’s.  Romney had the chance to walk back his support for the mandate but instead chose to double down on it by offering a nuanced state vs. federal government argument.

That means either he doesn’t care what voters think of him or he thinks that GOP voters are stupid.  Which is precisely what your garden variety sheep on the left thinks.  To most Democrats,  whatever Obama thinks is what they think.  ”Regime change in Iraq bad, in Libya good. Obama is our leader.  Must protect the hive.  Must chant, Obama, Obama!”  Try it, it is more catching than you think!

In reality, Obama is doing in Libya what Bush did in Iraq.  Yet, over 900 people have been killed in Syria, and the President ignores the issue and offers up a speech saying that there will be some good and some bad days in the Middle East.  Sorry if you get shot in the meantime.  Meaning  he will do nothing about Syria.  Likewise Bush named Iraq, Iran and North Korea as the axis of evil, and then invaded the weakest by far of the three countries while leaving the other two alone.

With yesterday’s wimping out by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels from the 2012 contest, Mitt Romney is looking good for the nomination which means Barack Obama will most likely be reelected President.

Will a hero ride to the rescue?  It it is getting late and time is short.   America’s first post national President looks like he will get the chance to finish “fundamentally transforming the United States of America” as he promised he would do during the 2008 campaign.  What that looks like by 2016 is anyone’s guess.

Tim Pawlenty announced today, maybe T-Paw as he is called, has more under the hood than most people think.  Perhaps it is time to give him a second look.

With that, I’m John Romano for Yes, But, However!
