End of the World May 21st: Judgment Day 2011 Songs Given – Gather.com

According to Harold Camping, everyone will see the end of the world May 21st for Judgment Day 2011. Some are taking this news quite seriously, while others are seeing the humor in it. One website has even provided people the soundtrack for the last day of humanity’s existence.

According to Death and Taxes, many people will be annihilated from the face of the Earth if Camping’s prediction is correct. The family talk radio host believes that Jesus will return to the Earth to judge all of mankind. Those who have been good go to Heaven, while the rest have a one way ticket down to where the weather’s always way too hot.

To prepare for the last day, the website has given a nice soundtrack of songs that people can put on their iPod. It’s unknown at this point if iPods are allowed past the gates of Heaven or Hell, but it certainly makes for a nice mix of music.

On the soundtrack are artists such as Morrissey, Sebadoh, The Clash, Joy Division, Meat Puppets, and Bob Dylan. Some great classic songs like Blondie’s Rapture, Public Enemy’s Countdown to Armageddon, and REM’s very appropriate It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) are part of the mix. Public Enemy (pictured) includes one of the most identifiable stars in hip-hop named Flavor Flav. It appears that maybe the huge clock he wears around his neck has a new meaning, as time ticks down towards the end of existence.

There’s plenty of songs out there that talk about destruction, Heaven, Hell, and even crazy people. With that in mind, it may be time to load up the iPod with some good music prior to the last day for Earth. If you believe the end of the world will happen May 21st, why not party to the fullest as Judgment Day 2011 arrives?

What songs would you want to hear if you knew it was your final day on Earth, or would you not even care about music? What music does Harold Camping listen to?
