Donald Driver Welcomes Baby Girl, Would Welcome Team Record – WBAY

This could be an amazing 24 hours for Donald Driver.

Wednesday night, Driver and his wife Betina welcomed a baby girl into the world. Her name is Charity.

And Thursday, Driver could set a new team record. He needs just 42 yards to become the Packers’ all-time leading receiver, passing James Lofton.

He said earlier this week he was worried Betina would get too excited at the game and go into labor Thursday night, so at least he won’t have to worry about that.

It would be Driver’s third major franchise receiving record. He already holds the records for most catches and most consecutive games with a catch.

It would be great to break the record on a touchdown, but Driver’s trying not to focus on the record.

“I haven’t even really thought about it. You get to a point when it’s too much pressure if you start thinking about it. I just want to play the game,” he said. “Once I get it, I think someone will tell me. I’m just focused on going out there and making the plays count when I have the opportunity.”

Driver doesn’t expect the record to be a game-stopper, either. “They didn’t do it when I broke the record in receptions, so I don’t think they’ll stop it. It’s just one play. You wave, and whenever that play may be, you’re able to walk away knowing that you’ve done it.”
