CDC: Here’s what to do in case of zombie apocalypse – Chicago Sun-Times
Glenn (Steven Yeun, left) watches as Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) attacks a zombie on “The Walking Dead” on AMC.
Wondering what to do in the event of a zombie apocalypse?
The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, not known for its sense of humor, has a few tips on how to prepare for an invasion of the walking dead.
Sample advice provided by Assistant Surgeon General Dr. Ali S. Khan in a tongue-in-cheek blog post includes planning an evacuation route in advance because, “when zombies are hungry, they won’t stop until they get food (i.e. brains), which means you need to get out of town fast!”
The zombie post was meant to draw people to the CDC’s website and its tips on what to do in case of a real emergency, such as a hurricane or tornado.
The CDC has some experience with zombies, if only in fiction. Its Atlanta headquarters was blown up during an episode of AMC’s hit zombie show “The Walking Dead.”
