405, 710 construction closures set for the weekend – Long Beach Press-Telegram
LONG BEACH — Full closures of sections of the 405 and 710 freeways will take place this weekend as part of ongoing construction projects, officials said.
The San Diego (405) Freeway between Seal Beach Boulevard and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway interchange will be closed so construction crews can add additional lanes to the 405 and reconstruct the Seventh Street connector bridge, transportation officials said.
The southbound 405 will be closed from 11 p.m. today to
5 a.m. Saturday from the 605 interchange to Seal Beach Boulevard.
The northbound 405 will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday between Seal Beach Boulevard and the 605 freeway interchange.
In addition, the connector from the southbound 405 Freeway to the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Saturday.
The 710 will be closed in both directions from Firestone Boulevard to Slauson Avenue to replace aging pavement as part of the Long Life Pavement Rehabilitation Project.
Southbound 405
Exit Studebaker Road. Continue south on Studebaker Road to Second Street/Westminster Avenue and turn left.
Continue east on Westminster Avenue to access the southbound 405 on-ramp.
Continue east on Westminster Avenue and turn left on Goldenwest Street to access the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway on-ramp.
Northbound 405
Exit Westminster Avenue, turn left on Westminster Avenue and proceed west.
Turn right on Studebaker Road, continue north to access the northbound 405 on- ramp.
Turn right on Seal Beach Boulevard, continue north on Seal Beach Boulevard-Los Alamitos Boulevard, turn left on Katella Avenue to access the northbound 605 on-ramp.
710 Freeway closures
The 710 will be closed from 11:59 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Sunday to
5 a.m. Monday.
The following ramps and connectors will be closed throughout the weekend:
On-ramps to northbound 710: from Imperial Highway, Firestone Boulevard and Florence Avenue.
On-ramps to southbound 710: from Atlantic Boulevard Florence Avenue and Firestone Boulevard.
Off-ramps from northbound 710: to Florence Avenue and Firestone Boulevard.
Eastbound and westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway connector to northbound 710.
